The Northstar School located on the Rajkot-Bhavnagar highway is a pilot project in integrating school learning with heavily nature influenced architecture.
The design of the school is such that as the infrastructure ages it will invite more and more of the lush flora and fauna to become a part of the students' experience.
The facility features individual gardens in each classroom, long corridors and an emphasis on open roofs, outdoor seating and plenty of ventilation.
Heavy usage of Bella, a fresh red limestone makes the exterior of the building pleasing to the touch and to the eyes. It also perfectly matches the surroundings and the nearby city's culture.
There's also a large stepped courtyard inspired by Gujarati step wells which helps with circulation of students as well as large gatherings.
